In today’s poem, I dive into the peculiar way our minds navigate through familiar sounds to find meaning. Through a series of rhyming words centered around 'flock,' this poem captures the universal experience of feeling lost in the creative process while trying to find our way back to purpose.
Inspired by Beth Kempton’s #tinyautumnpoem prompt.
A cascade of words rhyme with flock Balk, block, calk, chalk. Here I am looking at the clock ten minutes, tick-tock. Dock, hawk, hock, I wish the rhymes would just jock off. Harking back to childhood lock, mock, nock, pock. I have now flown so far from the flock Someone please help me walk or talk my way back to the prompt
Marbellys!!! This is fantastic! I got teary listening to your voice and poem🥹
Lol! I was saying some of the words out loud because they don't rhyme in all English accents... I was then trying out which accent it might rhyme with... cue my Barbie playing accent from childhood🤣
