It captures that internal struggle we all face sometimes, especially after being hurt or betrayed by someone, that battle between wanting to hold onto something and knowing you need to let it go. -
Marbellys
A pocketful of sand
escaping through my fingers
futile attempts to hold
memories
like fine grains
still linger

bittersweet taste
of broken promises
deceitful
a hum of lies
revealing
cowardice, comptent, dishonesty 

useless, pugnacious, ruthless
no remorse
no validation
fine grains of sand
degraded, tainted, distorted
heart and soul resist

mind compel…
